Before being formally established as the ‘Coordinating Committee of the Federation of Seven Clan Associations’, the 7-clan associations, ie, the Hokkien Association, the Kwang Tung Association, the Hakka Association, the Teochew Association, the Hainan Association, the Kwongsai Association and the San Kiang Association, were already unofficially regarded as the Federation of the Seven Clans Association and constantly invited to participate in China’s Communist Party events.
Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA), a pioneer art school was established in 1967 by a group of people comprising art collectors and art lovers. The objectives of MIA were to promote art and to provide affordable education for those interested in the arts.
Established on the 12th June 1988, the Malaysian Chinese community witnessed the birth of the 24 Festive Drums which was founded by two talented local cultural activists - Mr Tan Hooi Song and Mr Tan Chai Puan (also known as Xiao Man).

TAR UC Choir, established in 2004, currently has around 40 active members. The Choir is privileged to have the service of its founding advisor cum conductor Ms Ang Yaw Feng, piano accompanist cum assistant advisor Ms Regina Ong Ween Yen, and external choir instructor, internationally acclaimed choir trainer Ms Susanna Saw.
