Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA), a pioneer art school was established in 1967 by a group of people comprising art collectors and art lovers. The objectives of MIA were to promote art and to provide affordable education for those interested in the arts.
As a non-profit organization, MIA has kept the fees affordable so that more music and art enthusiasts are able to pursue their interest in obtaining an art or music education. MIA currently has 7 Diploma courses in Art, Design and Music. The courses offered are Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Industrial Design, Textile and Fashion Design, Interior Design and Music.
All 7 courses have been accredited since 2002 and in the MOHE MyQuest Ranking of Colleges in 2011 and later in 2013, MIA was twice awarded an excellent 5-Star Rating, a testimony of our quest to provide affordable and quality education.
MIA has successfully trained thousands of graduates who are now established artists, designers and musicians serving many sectors. We at MIA are extremely proud of them as our graduates continue to win many prestigious prizes and also receive accolades in their relevant fields.
The word ‘Magnifique’ derives from French, which carries the meaning of splendid, glorious and excellent.

Since its inception in 1980, MIA’s Department of Music has provided programmes of study that is conducive for young people to advance their desire to make for themselves a satisfying career in music, either as performers or teachers upon attaining a Diploma in Music. Among the alumni’s, many became internationally well-known musicians.
As public performances are an integral part of our music programme, this concert serves as another platform for our faculty members, students and alumni to present their original pieces and songs for instrumental, ensembles, solo and choral singing. There will be various genres of works depicting the Western classical solo singing and playing, duet, choirs, modern ensemble as well as guitar and string ensembles.
